Kyra Minton Sedgwick is a native of New York, and is an American actor. Her name is known all over the world and especially in America because of her leading role in the TV show 'The Closer'. Sedgwick began to be attracted to the artistic arts, Broadway, and acting as she reached the age of 12 of age. She was first introduced to Broadway by her mother she was interested in it. Sedgwick was just 16 when she got her professional acting debut on the show 'Another World. The first TV roles she had were not big, however she was much more interested in becoming a famous actress. Her name was spotted in the grand-screen spotlight for the first time with her role as a supporting actress in the film 'Born On the 4th of July', in which she starred along with Tom Cruise. Sedgwick had more roles in movies after the success of this film, including: "Singles", "Heart and Souls", and "Phenomenon". At just 22 year old, she was married the actor Kevin Bacon after working in a TV series called Lemon Sky. Sedgwick's flawless performance on the seven-season series 'The Closer" earned her numerous awards, including an Emmy and Golden Globe.
